Viton for Base

 

Base-Resistant Fluoroelastomer
Viton™ for Base Resistance is a new offering that has the performance equivalent to other TFE elastomers currently on the market. Aflas® is the most commonly used name to represent this family of TFE elastomers.

Viton™ for Base Resistance Fluoroelastomer resists property loss in exposure to basic chemicals such as primary and secondary amines, and strong caustics, such as potassium, sodium, and ammonium hydroxide.

Viton™ for Base Resistance Fluoroelastomers is recommended for molded and calendered products that are exposed to high pH fluids.

Typical Properties

  • Hardness Durometer Shore A: 75±5
  • Tensile Strength: 1700 psi minimum
  • Elongation: 250%
  • Temperature Range: -3°C to 204°C (400°F)
  • Color: Black
  • 100% Modulus psi: 760
